Family and Group Car Rental in Morocco: A Practical Guide

Morocco is a wonderful destination for families and groups of friends. Children love the colors of the markets, the camels, the beaches and the mountain villages, and a car lets you travel at a pace that suits everyone. With a little preparation, a family road trip can be simple and relaxing.
Choosing the right car
The first question is simple: how many people, and how much luggage?
Our fleet is made up of Dacia Logan sedans, a Dacia Sandero, a Renault Express and a Renault Kardian, all with 5 seats:
- The Dacia Logan is a sedan with a separate, closed boot. Luggage stays out of sight, which is practical when you stop for lunch or a visit.
- The Dacia Sandero is a compact hatchback, easy to drive and park in town.
According to Dacia's official specifications, both models have rear parking sensors and ISOFIX anchors for child seats. See all the details on our fleet page.
Traveling with more than five people? You can rent two cars and drive in convoy, or book our private driver service. Ask us and we will help you find the best combination.
Child seats
Child safety comes first. Before you travel:
- Check the rules for child seats in your situation and for the age of your children.
- Ask us when you book whether a child seat can be provided for your dates.
- If you bring your own seat, check that it is compatible with ISOFIX or with a standard seat belt installation.
Luggage
Families often travel with more luggage than they expect. To avoid surprises:
- Tell us the number of people and suitcases when you book.
- Soft bags are easier to fit than rigid suitcases.
- Keep a small bag with essentials - water, snacks, wipes, medicine, a change of clothes - inside the car rather than in the boot.
Planning comfortable stages
Distances in Morocco can look short on the map but take longer on mountain roads. With children:
- Plan shorter driving days, ideally with a break every hour and a half to two hours.
- Start early to avoid the midday heat, especially in summer.
- Choose accommodation with parking so you don't have to search for a space in the evening.
- Alternate driving and activities: a morning on the road, an afternoon at the beach or pool.
- Avoid driving at night on rural roads.

Traveling as a group of friends
Groups have different needs from families:
- Share the driving between several drivers - ask us about the conditions for additional drivers when you book.
- Agree on a budget for fuel, tolls and parking before you leave.
- Two cars give more flexibility if the group wants to split up for part of a day.
Budget tips
A rental car is often an economical way for a family or group to travel, compared with several separate tickets. To keep costs clear:
- Ask for the total price for your dates, including insurance and any extras.
- Clarify the fuel policy and the security deposit.
- Plan for tolls on motorways and parking in cities.
Our guide to hidden car rental costs lists the points to check before you commit.
